I am undoubtedly a woman who loves a good bag, especially when it mixes style (most important) with comfort, durability and style. I like a good tote all year long, but especially in the summer, when a last-minute invitation to the beach means you have to pack your life in under a minute and just go.
It’s why my new objects of desire are these amazing Jerome Dreyfuss Linen and Leather Travel Companions. Linen body means it’s durable and will feel softer over time (not to mention the durability and “washability” of linen.) The leather straps mean that I could carry this on the streets of NYC to a gazillion meetings as easily as I could throw it on a plane or take it to the beach.
The colored leather straps come in sky blue, savannah, black, and yellow or peach wild karung snakeskin, which has the appearance of water snake. The bags come in three distinctive bodies: the Carlos, an existing shape in Dreyfuss’ collection; the Pat: a roomy design, exclusive to this linen collection which has two adjustable handles so you can carry it by hand or over the shoulder; and the Mouss, a extra-flat north/south bag which is also exclusive to the collection and also has the versatile straps.
I love the military-inspired body of the bag and the two colors (khaki and an earthy grey) will look amazing over time as they’re weathered by the elements. I love how easy they are. I love that the prices start at $295 for such a well-crafted, beautifully-designed tote.
I love that one of them will soon be making its way into my closet.
