Blogger Inspiration Board: Blake Lively’s Savages Look, Girls of A Certain Age, Anne Hathaway As Catwoman and Kate Moss’ Style
Here’s what I’ll be reading and re-reading over the weekend…and you should join me.
I saw Oliver Stone’s new movie, Savages, last week. Although I love Oliver Stone, the stars of this particular movie were the man candy of Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson (holy crushed crackers in a clutch, they’re gorgeous) and Blake Lively’s breathtaking good looks and flowing mane. I have a small obsession with her and her hair, it’s true. My girl, Amber Katz of Beauty Blogging Junkie breaks down how to get Ophelia’s California cool look and it’s a great post. Read it. Like, now.
My new blog obsession? Girls of A Certain Age, the new blog by former Lucky editor-in-chief Kim France. Because all of us Gen X dames can totally get where Kim is coming from, her writing is just as snappy and engaging as ever, and she’s got impeccable taste. Read, well, everything on it.
Um, Kate Moss is starring in George Michael’s new video. July 17th, please do not disturb me because I’ll most likely be watching it all day on repeat until my eyes stop working.
I’m having another bohemian style moment and dreams of strolling in a paisley frock in Lauren Canyon are upon me. Hence, I’ve recently become obsessed with this B by Brian Atwood Palazzo Suede Fringe Boot. I have PLANS for this pair of boots rolling all the way into the dead of winter. Bergdorf Goodman, you will see me soon.
Oh, btw, you will literally INUDATED with early-to-mid 90′s inspired colors, music and fashion over the next months. It’s ALL the rage for fall. Brick and raisin red-brown lips will be everything to you shortly, so go ahead and get a jump on the game with my beloved all-time favorite lipstick: NARS Lipstick in Fire Down Below.
Finally, my project this weekend is go through my clothes and work on revitalizing my look. Is there anything more fun? I’ve got a stack of magazines about yea high and this book. This amazing image of the ever stylish-but-sadly-tragic Edie Sedgwick is part of my real inspiration board. I’ll take snaps of it when it’s done.
Finally, speaking on the 9o’s making a comeback, let’s do enjoy a seriously fun and fashionable retro video, shall we? How about a little Luscious Jackson, “Ladyfingers.”
Talk soon! Live well, dolls!
