Morning! So, I’m hunkered down in my apartment, waiting for Hurricane Sandy to make her much-anticipated arrival. While she makes her presence known, I’m rolling through my photos from the week of my newest, latest obsessions. Here’s what I’m presently thinking about and loving right this second:
Walking out of Haven with freshly-painted toes (and more about that epic pedicure later,) I spotted items going into the new Versace store on Mercer Street in Soho. Mercer is already a tiny retail paradise that threatens to take all my money at fashion gunpoint every time I walk down its sidewalks, but now we have a PROBLEM. Officially obsessed with these mind-blowing boots I spotted in the window.
At home this weekend, I’m finally making some sense of the chaos after my new apartment move, particularly with this tablescape I created using Archipelago candles. The combination of their Walnut Expresso Soy Candle (a rich coffee-nut fragrance with a bamboo wick that sounds like a crackling fire) and the Havana Three-Wick Candle, a combination of bergamot, Cuban tobacco leaf and Ylang-Ylang are amazing together, especially with the red roses I picked up after SoulCycle and my favorite Pamela Love spiked cuff. I love adding jewelry to decor – it’s unexpected glamour and it makes use of things you already own.
My pretty golden tree on my block in Harlem. Whether it will look like this after Sandy has her way with us is unknown.
I’m not sure this golden-leafed tree will still be here after Hurricane Sandy has her way with us, but I am madly in love with fall. I had a movie moment from The Outsiders running through my head when I saw it, where Ponyboy (an uber-dreamy C. Thomas Howell) recites the Robert Frost poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay” at the end of the movie:
In other hot rebel news, I’m having a Johnny Depp moment again, particularly when this little gem popped up in my Facebook feed:
And finally, I have a need for glittery fantasy pants and am strangely drawn to this pair of Reiss Carrie Sparkle Black Sequined Leggings. I think they might make a great rocker addition to my holiday party wardrobe, which I don’t have now that the weight is almost off. Time to shop!
What’s on your obsession list this week? Love anything you’ve seen? Hanging tight against the storm as well? Do tell!

Love the sequin leggings and Versace boots! Sandy is so well-dressed
The question is, should I go all Keith Richards crazy and try and wear them together, like I got dressed in a disco fire?
