So, I headed over to the Facebook page (which, if you’re not following over there, please do) and took a little poll: do men care about red lipstick? As in, do they love it, hate it, or could they really care less?
I ask this because I’ve dated guys who have adamantly sworn that they hate lip products of any kind, that kissing a woman with red lipstick was messy and that all that makeup is unnecessary.
Peeps, I’ve been dating the wrong men.
The outpouring of support for the crimson lip color was OUTSTANDING, so I’ve decided to throw up my favorite so when you Rock the Red Lip, you’re able to find the perfect hue quite easily, which can be like finding the perfect pair of jeans. The red lipstick color is easier, trust me.
In my book, the perfect red lipstick comes from M∙A∙C Cosmetics: Russian Red. Others will argue that the line’s other hues like Lady Danger and Ruby Woo (Gwen Stefani’s chosen iconic shade,) are better.
Here’s how to solve that problem: get their PRO Lip Palette with 6 Editorial Reds ($40) and end the argument altogether. The palette contains 6 iconic shades: Ruby Woo, Dare You, On Hold ( in Creamsheen finish,) Russian Red (my personal favorite, obvi), Lady Danger (matte formula,) and M∙A∙C Red (in Satin finish.)
My personal vote for Russian Red is because it’s a perfect blue-based red, which works well on all skin tones. It also makes your teeth look whiter, and it’s like a homing signal for your mouth.
Beep, I’m over here. Beep, come and get it, tiger.
But I digress. Get the palette, explore your options, be sure to line your lips first, and explore the possibilities and the evidently MANSLAYING power of the red lip, gals.
