ALRIGHTY. So, who watched the 2013 Golden Globes broadcast last night? Because in addition to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler being the BEST HOSTS IN THE HISTORY OF ALL TIME last night (the joke about Taylor Swift staying away from Michael J. Fox’s son? Genius. They could have run the credits right there,) the gowns were glamazeballs. It’s a new word…I mean, it’s not even a word, but I was really excited for the fashion and beauty, y’all.
And now, let’s get right into the looks I thought were The Best of The Best. I’m revved up with coffee and I’m about to break down the looks from head to toe of the women I thought SLAYED it on the red carpet. First up, the mind-blowing beauty of Jessica Alba.
Star: Jessica Alba
Styled by: Brad Goreski
Gown: Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2013 Collection
Jewelry: $5+ MM necklace from Harry Winston
Clutch: Roger Vivier
Shoes: Jimmy Choo
And now, for her side-swept hair and beauty look. Because, can you pull a $6MM necklace and thousands of dollars of accessories? No. Can you rock this fantastic hair and makeup look without your bank asking you to call them to verify that someone hasn’t stolen your card? Yes.
Makeup Artist: Lauren Andersen
Makeup Brands used: Hourglass Cosmetics
Inspiration: “The dress was the inspiration. I loved the contrast between her glowing skin and the matte orange lip. It’s an almost tropical pop of color that’s not an exact match for the dress but close.”
Face: Prep your skin with Hourglass No. 28 Primer Serum, followed by Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturizer in Sand. Dab Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer in Warm under the eyes, down the bridge of the nose and spread the product out with your hands at the center of the forehead. Finish by applying Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light (new product for 2013) all over the face to give your face a golden, subtle glow.
Cheeks: Use the bronze shade from Hourglass Illume Crème-to-Powder Bronzer Duo in Sunset to contour the cheeks, then add the blush shade on the apples of the cheeks.
Eyes: First apply Hourglass Film Noir Kohl Eye Pencil in Espresso to the outer corners of the eyes, then smudge it with a brush. Add Hourglass Superficial Waterproof Bronzer in the crease of the eyes along with the gold shade from Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo in Dune on the lids. Apply several coats of Hourglass Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara, then finish the eyes by amping up brows with Hourglass Arch Sculpting Brow Pencil in Soft Brunette.
Lips: Go with a vibrant tangerine shade like Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Riviera, which has great impact and long-lasting coverage for up to 14 hours.
You can get all of Jessica’s fab makeup, btw, via the Hourglass site OR via Barneys New York. Which, as Sarah Jessica Parker once said, “If you’re a really nice person, you get to shop at Barneys.” You’ve been pretty nice lately, right?
