When I entered the Michael Kors presentation for the first time, I have to admit that I was completely excited. After all, this is the man who has made an empire out of the good life, that American jet setter who seemingly has it all. I wanted to see what he had in store for us for Fall 2013. And it was everything I wanted it to be.
With Willy Moon’s “Yeah Yeah” pulsating through the tents, the sporty-chic clothes came stomping down the runway to models filled with energy and a crowd dying to devour it. Kors entire collection was inspired by the city of New York (a very common theme this season) and the urban jungle. From sportswear to evening wear, this is a play on the various women and men who strut the streets of Gotham every day, with a touch of Kors’ hand thrown in.
The best items from the collection are the vivid colors and the more fitted silhouettes. I mean, only Michael Kors can put orange and camouflage down the runway at the same time and make it look chic.
My Southern roots wanted to say that the color combination looked like hunting camo and safety orange, but it’s actually caution orange and urban chic camouflage. Whatever the case, I want to rock it come fall.
The collection ended with beautiful sleek leather and cocktail silhouettes and then the finale dresses took the regular sheath into the ballroom with a flyaway peplum floating away at the waist…
with Karlie Kloss (who was BUSY this season, non?) stomping down the runway in the finale dress. It was so vivid that tiny spectrums shot from the dress onto the dark surfaces outside the runway lights. It was amazing to behold and it has to make a red carpet appearance soon.
This post is filled with my favorites from the collection. Hopefully, they’ll be some of yours as well. We’re going sporty and spicy this fall with Kors, gals. Come on in, the fashion’s fine.
